Why use a Stone specialist?
Stone, by its very origin is a natural product and each type of stone and/or finish has specific requirements when being laid to achieve the best end result.
As the saying goes, the devil is in the detail and attention to detail is of paramount importance when laying a stone floor correctly and to the highest standards.
For example, a honed and diamond cut floor needs to be laid completely flat to ensure no unsightly lips. We achieve this by using a laser level to identify the high and low points of the sub-floor. Only then can you begin to lay the floor from the correct point and with the correct depth of adhesive. Additionally, the joints must be millimetre perfect to create the wow of the finished floor.
An antiqued finished stone style should be dry laid - that is, all pieces cut and laid in place on the floor, then lifted, marked and relaid with adhesive. This ensures the best colour and pattern blend of the stone.
